Instructional Positions

If you are interested in becoming a candidate for an instructional position in our District, please complete the online application process through RecruitFront. Please be sure to select Saratoga Springs City School District.

Substitute Teachers and Nurses

After completing the BOCES process and signing up through AESOP, you will need to complete substitute paperwork for our school district in order to be paid.  Please contact the Personnel Development Office in the MacFadden Administration Building to request the forms. All forms are filled out through our electronic hiring program. Please complete all hiring forms and email two forms of ID to Kristina Derlinga in the Personnel Development Office at k_derlinga@saratogaschools.org.

Substitute Teacher Aides, School Monitors, Clerical, Food Service, Custodial and Transportation Positions

The District maintains a list of active substitutes in each of the following areas:  Teaching Assistant, Teacher Aide, School Monitor, Clerical, Food Service, Custodial and Transportation. To be considered an active substitute, please complete an application for employment on RecruitFront and then apply to substitute job posting(s) you are interested in.

You will be contacted by the appropriate office for an interview and to fill out a Civil Service Application (found below). Once you have been offered a position, you will be contacted by our HR office to come in and fill out a Fingerprint Consent Form to get fingerprinted and for you to submit your two forms of ID. Please note the District will cover the cost of fingerprinting.

Once fingerprints have cleared, you will be e-mailed by School Front (our hiring program) to electronically fill out all the necessary paperwork to complete the hiring process for employment.

Substitute non-instructional positions that do not require a Civil Service Exam are listed below:

  • Student support: teaching assistant, teacher aide, monitor, student interpreter
  • Clerical: clerk, keyboard specialist
  • Facilities: custodian, cleaner, school grounds monitor (law enforcement background required) 
  • Food Service: cashier, food service helper, courier 
  • Transportation: bus driver (Training provided; Class A or Class B License Required with P&S Endorsements), Bus assistant, bus mechanic

    Substitute Teacher/Clerical Substitute Training

    The Saratoga Springs City School District offers Information Technology (IT) and Safety training opportunities to substitute teachers and non-instructional subs.

    Please note there are no trainings scheduled at this time.

    IT Certification Training: The Saratoga Springs City School District offers cost-free, basic IT Certification Training for substitutes (teachers and clerical) who work in our District. The advantage of receiving this technology training is the acquisition of District network logon credentials (username and password). Additionally, teachers will receive basic interactive display training, without which they cannot utilize online resources or teach lessons designed by classroom teachers using interactive tools and technology. IT Certification Training for Substitute Teachers and Clerical Staff is free to those who are on the Saratoga sub lists.
