About Greenfield Elementary

About Greenfield Elementary

Greenfield Elementary School is one of six outstanding elementary schools in the Saratoga Springs City School District. Our school is nestled in the beautiful town of Greenfield, NY. We enjoy a country-like setting, but we are only minutes away from the city of Saratoga Springs.

The faculty and staff of Greenfield Elementary are incredibly talented and committed. Our fundamental purpose is to promote personal and academic growth. We develop and maintain a caring and nurturing environment for our students. Academic growth is developed using sound research based instructional practices. Our students are encouraged to share what they have learned in various forms of writing, through discussions, and in displays and performances.

We provide a rigorous curriculum aligned to the Next Generation Learning Standards.

In addition to classroom support, our school psychologist, Mrs. Talia Brower, and our school nurse, Ms. Yvonne Delli-Veneri, can provide families information and support for social-emotional and physical well-being. Please contact us if we can be of any assistance.

Building Leadership Team

The Greenfield Elementary School Building Leadership Team (BLT) is made up of parents, guardians, and elementary school staff. The BLT meets through the year to collaboratively discuss topics that are important to the school. For more information, please contact the main office.

Pick-Up and Drop-Off

Students who ride the school bus will begin unloading for breakfast at 8:55 a.m. and all students will unload from the buses at 9:10 a.m. The student drop-off opens at 9:00 a.m. and closes at 9:10 a.m. Afternoon dismissal begins with student pick-up starting at 3:20 p.m. Bus dismissal begins at 3:23 p.m. We will have staff located throughout arrival and dismissal locations to assist students during these times.

Attendance

Please remember to send us a note if your child is not taking the bus home. If you plan to pick your child up from school in the pick-up loop or if your child is scheduled for the Y Base program, we need to be notified. Digital communication is acceptable and even encouraged. We have a generic email address that is received in our main office: gf_attendance@saratogaschools.org. You can also send notice of intended absences from school and excuses for absences to this email address. Please include your child’s first and last name, teacher’s name, and purpose of the note (pickup or excuse) and the days/dates this applies. Any communication regarding pickup from school needs to be communicated to the school prior to 12:00 p.m.
