The following is a list of clubs and activities available to our students. Please continually check back here, as well as your student’s take-home materials, for additional opportunities to get involved.
Art Club
Students who participate in Art Club should show an interest in working and collaborating with others: they should be creative, flexible, and willing to learn! Fifth-grade members participate each year in a state-wide creative competition. Club Advisor: Emily Bookmiller
Battle of the Books
Students can take their enthusiasm for reading and trivia to the next level through this collaborative reading competition. Club Advisor: Sherry Dorrer
Beyond the Bell
Students have the opportunity to boost their skills in reading and math in small targeted groups, outside of our traditional school day. Coordinators: Courtney Jablonski and Catherine Ehmann
Chess Club
Students learn about and challenge one another in the classic game of chess. All levels of experience welcome. Club Advisor: Tina Damiano
Cheetah Book Club
Students who love reading and discussion can join peers in a shared reading of a novel and group analysis. Club Advisor: Barb Wersten
Drama Club
Students in grades 4-5 show off their love for the lime light through participation in a school musical. Students in fourth and fifth grade are eligible to try out for various roles in the selected play. Club Advisors: Rana Hughes and Jeannie Fontaine
Cheetah Running Club
Any fourth and fifth-grade girl who thinks girls are smart, powerful, strong, fun, adventurous and would like to celebrate that fact with other girls who feel the same way can use fitness and fun to learn about self-esteem, values, being respectful to themselves and their communities, making difficult decisions, and being true to themselves. Kindness Crew
This club allows students who are eager to make a difference in our school, providing them with a framework to find their voice, build empathy for others as a result of their own experience and promote kindness and acceptance for all. Club Advisors: Rana Hughes and Nicole Usher
Orchestra Club
Students in fourth and fifth grade have the opportunity to elevate their general orchestra skills through improvisation, composition projects, and increased performances. Club Advisor: Maura McNamara
Ski Club
Students in third- fifth grade can join their love of winter with outdoor adventure by joining students in group trips to West Mountain. All ability levels are welcome. Rentals and group lessons are available at discounted costs to participants. Club Advisors: Rana Hughes, Joanne Sharp, Barb Wersten
Student Council
As leaders in the building, fifth grade students can apply to be part of the student council. This group runs a variety of service oriented efforts at school, including charity fundraising, school recycling, tours for the Board of Education, character education posters, etc. Club Advisors: Deborah Vandewater and Pam Somoza
