Home Instruction

Parents are permitted to educate their children at home in accordance with Educational Law and Part 100 Regulations of the Commissioner of Education. Children of compulsory education age must receive full-time instruction taught by a competent teacher that is substantially equivalent to that provided at their local public school.

Specific provisions govern home instruction. The NYS Regulations provide detailed requirements for courses to be taught, required attendance and student evaluation.

To apply for home instruction, please complete the Intent for Home Instruction, 100.00 Home Instruction Regulations, and Individual Home Instruction Plan and return to the Office of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment at the MacFadden Administration Building.
