SSCSD Schools To Open As Scheduled On January 3 – Precautions In Place During Boil Water Advisory

Update: the boil water advisory for the City of Saratoga Springs has been lifted.

Happy New Year! We are excited to welcome our students and staff back from the holiday break on Tuesday, January 3.

On January 1, the City of Saratoga Springs issued a boil water advisory due to a water main break on Excelsior Ave. The water main has been repaired, but the boil water advisory will remain be in affect through January 3. The boil water advisory affects our schools within The City of Saratoga Springs including Caroline Street, Division Street, Geyser Road, Lake Avenue, and Saratoga Springs High School.

The school district is working closely with The City of Saratoga Springs to ensure that our schools are safe to open on January 3. The water lines have been flushed in our school facilities and bottle filling stations and drinking fountains will not be in use until the boil water advisory is lifted. The district will provide bottled water to students, but we encourage families to send their child in with bottled water if possible. In addition, enhanced safety precautions will be taken during food preparation to ensure school meals are safe.
