Say Something Anonymous Reporting System

Safety is our number one priority, and we are committed to providing students, families, and staff with tools that help keep our schools safe and supportive.

During the month of October, the Saratoga Springs City School District will transition from the SafeSchools Helpline to the Say Something Anonymous Reporting System, a program of Sandy Hook Promise.

The Say Something Anonymous Reporting System provides students and adults with a secure way to report concerns about potential threats, violence, bullying, self-harm or other situations that may impact the safety and well-being of others. The system is designed to empower individuals to speak up when they see something that concerns them.

Students in grades 4-12 will participate in a Say Something training video during class to learn how the system works, what types of concerns should be reported, and how to use the reporting tool. The three goals of the Say Something program are to teach students how to:

  • Recognize warning signs: Recognize warning signs and threats that may indicate someone is at risk of hurting themselves or others.
  • Say Something: Tell a trusted adult when they are concerned and learn how to submit a tip through the Anonymous Reporting System.
  • Be an Upstander: Help build a community of Upstanders who look out for one another.

Families can learn more about the Say Something Anonymous Reporting System through Sandy Hook Promise.

How to Submit an Anonymous Tip

Students, families, and staff can submit anonymous tips 24/7 through the Say Something reporting system.

  • Online: Use the online Say Something reporting system.
  • Phone: Call 1-844-5-SAYNOW (1-844-572-9669).
  • Text Message: Text the word TIP to 79775 to start an anonymous text report.
  • Mobile App: Download the free Say Something app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Reports can be submitted anonymously. When making a report, provide as much information as possible about the concern, including what happened, who may be involved, where or when it may occur, and any other details that may help.

If someone is in immediate danger or there is an emergency, call 911.

Thank you for helping us create a school community where we lookout for one another. If you see something, say something.
