Battle of the Books: Ms. Ellis, C127 – Our competitive team will read nine required books and promote literacy by representing the school in competitions against area districts in the annual Battle of the Books.

Fiddle Club: Ms. Drellos, B108 – Open to 7th and 8th graders interested in the style of fiddle music. No audition required. Regular attendance is encouraged as we will be learning new songs by ear during each meeting.

Introduction to Bagpiping: Ms. Barber, P222 – Explore the history and sounds of bagpiping. In small groups, start learning the basics of playing the practice chanter.

Maple Avenue Chamber Orchestra: Ms. Drellos, B108 – Offers 7th and 8th graders an opportunity to play in a more advanced string orchestra with smaller sections. Open by auditions. 6th graders are welcome to try out, but 7th and 8th graders will be accepted first.

Maple Bees: Ms. Corbett, S271 – This dynamic student club empowers student voices and creativity to shape a welcoming and inclusive school culture. Grounded in positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS), members collaborate on fun projects to strengthen our school climate. Together we make positivity shine!

Musical: Ms. Calvin – Annual production offering acting, singing, dancing, and social experiences culminating in a full-length musical stage performance.

No Place for Hate Club: Ms. Altman, O257; Ms. Canjura, E139; Ms. Mead, R236 – Students design and create fun and informative schoolwide activities to build empathy and combat biases. The club works with the Anti-Defamation League’s No Place for Hate to make Maple Ave a welcoming and affirming environment built on inclusivity, equity, and respect.

Peer Mentoring Club: Ms. Minehan, A118 – A group of 8th-grade students selected in 7th year to train and become peer mentors to a nominated group of 6th-grade students, supporting them for the entire school year as they meet the challenges of middle school.

Pop Culture Club: Ms. Schnorr, Student Services – Pop culture is everything that people are interested in or talking about, including celebrities, trends, movies, music, television shows, clothing, books, etc. Come join the fun!

Yearbook Club: Ms. D’Angelo, B105 & Ms. Minehan, A118 – Take photos of events and candid moments of school happenings. Help organize, produce, and distribute the school’s yearbook.
