AP exams are administered in May. Participation in an AP exam and payment of the associated exam fee are optional and the responsibility of the student and family. For the 2025-2026 school year, the AP® Program has resources and processes designed to help students earn college credit and placement.
Here’s what you and your student need to know:
- AP Exams will be given in May. Please plan ahead and mark your calendar with the date(s) of exams that have been provided on the reverse of this letter.
- Students can get personalized feedback through digital tools that provide daily support for every AP classroom. Students must be registered in AP Classroom for their course in order for an exam to be ordered. ALL STUDENTS MUST sign up for a College Board account if they haven’t done so already. All College Board programs are connected through one account, so if your student created one for the PSAT/NMSQT®, SAT®, or College Board Opportunity Scholarships, they’re all set. They’ll just need to have their username and password available. (Learn more at parents.collegeboard.org)
- AP students are responsible for the fee of $110.00 per exam. This includes the fee from CollegeBoard plus money for proctors, and other testing needs. There is a $40 fee for late registration and a $40 cancellation or unused exam fee. *NOTE FOR PHYSICS C: This subject consists of two separate exams and will cost a total of $220.00 (ordered and paid for as two separate $110 exam fees or it may possibly show as one exam for $220)
- SSHS will collect the fees and these will be due by Friday, October 31st, 2025. Preferred payment method is through the MySchoolBucks website (there are service fees which are lower for e-check). After October 31st, 2025 and until Friday, February 27, 2026, a late fee of $40 will be charged for each exam registered for. All exams must be paid for by the March deadline for a student to be registered for that exam and the student MUST be registered in AP Classroom for that course. NO exams may be ordered after February 27th.
- If your family income falls within the guidelines for free or reduced lunch and you have been approved for it, the reduced fee will automatically come up when you use MySchoolBucks. AP Exam Fee Link
- If you currently have College-Board (which is NOT ACT) approved testing modifications, or are in the process of applying for modifications, please alert your teacher so proper arrangements can be made on test day. If you are unsure about modifications, please email Mr. Walter at d_walter@saratogaschools.org and he can check for you.
- All late testing requires prior approval by one of the AP Coordinators.
- AP Exam date and times can be found online at APCentral. (Not all of these exams are available at Saratoga High School).
