The Maple Avenue SeaPerch Underwater Robotics program completed its inaugural competition season with an impressive showing at Union College, where five teams and 19 students represented Maple Avenue against schools from across the Capital Region. SeaPerch is an innovative underwater robotics program that equips students, educators, and parents with the resources they need to build an underwater remotely operated vehicle (ROV)
In this first year of participation, Maple Avenue students demonstrated outstanding skill, collaboration, and creativity throughout the design and competition process. The program provides students with authentic engineering experience as they apply science and math concepts to real-world challenges in underwater environments.
Our students performed exceptionally well at the competition, earning top honors among a competitive field. Two teams received special recognition:
- The Chlorine Commanders achieved the highest score in the mission course
- The Water Guys placed second overall and will advance to the International SeaPerch Competition in Maryland this May
Congratulations to all of our students engineers!
