The Saratoga Springs City School District’s tradition of excellence has drawn families to our area for many decades. The success of our 6,800 students is underscored by our outstanding ranking each year in ratings published in the Capital District Business Review. For five of the last six years, the district was ranked in the top 10 of 85 school districts in New York’s Capital Region, and has been the top-ranked city school district in the survey each year.
The district is committed to preparing students for successful careers and rewarding lives as leaders and contributing members of their communities, as reflected in our mission statement. With the help of about 1,100 faculty, staff and administrators, supported by committed parents and community members, the school district graduates students each year with the skills needed to succeed in the ever-changing world of the 21st century.
Students have many technological opportunities, including the use of touch-sensitive interactive whiteboards called SMARTBoards in hundreds of classrooms, and state-of-the art video production studios in the high school and middle school. The Project Lead the Way pre-engineering program is one of the largest in the country, and academic options in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) grow every year. Students can also showcase their talents through award-winning programs in art, music and theater.
The economic growth of our region, including development of the new $4.5 billion Global Foundries computer chip plant just south of Saratoga Springs, is due in large part to the strong educational programs that have the ongoing support of our very forward-looking community.
Our Schools
The Saratoga Springs City School District has six elementary schools for grades kindergarten to five, one middle school for grades six to eight, and one high school for grades nine to 12. The district serves students from the city of Saratoga Springs and the Saratoga County towns of Milton, Wilton, Malta, Greenfield and Saratoga.
