The objective of this website is to introduce Saratoga Springs High School students to the research process and the various resources we have available at the high school library. Because the mechanics of writing a research paper can often be confusing, the Modern Language Association (MLA) has set up guidelines regarding how to conduct research, compiling a bibliography, taking notes, outlining, preparing the paper or project, and the ethical responsibilities involved in research. At Saratoga Springs High School, students learn and use the guidelines established by the MLA for all research purposes.
Throughout the next four years, you will be engaged in a number of research papers and projects. Use this website as a resource as you work through the research process. The information available on this site was taken from the Sixth Edition of the MLA Handbook. We have tried to incorporate the most useful information on this site, but any area not covered can be found in the MLA Handbook.
Remember to ask your teachers or librarians if you have any questions. We are here to help you!
We hope that you will find this website useful throughout your years at Saratoga Springs High School.
