More emphasis is placed on speaking, reading, and writing and the students are encouraged to develop a correspondance with native speakers of the target language. Audio-lingual activities consist largely of reports and works of literary merit. Cultural content is coordinated into a unified whole to present a balanced picture of the civilizations in which the target language is used.
