Provision of Special Education Services to Home-Schooled Students

Home Schooled by Parent Choice

The following information applies to parents who are residents of the Saratoga Springs City School District and have a child with a disability who:

is now on home instruction or
may be placed on home instruction for this year or the following year.

Pursuant to Chapter 217 of the Laws of 2008, which was signed into law by the Governor on July 8, 2008, students with disabilities who are in home instruction programs pursuant to section 100.10 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education are eligible to receive special education services from their public school districts.

If you, as the parent, are seeking special education services to be provided to your child by Saratoga Springs City School District , you must submit a written request for special education services to the Office of Pupil Services no later than June 1 before the school year in which services are to be provided. For example, if you would like special education services to begin in the 2009-2010 school year, please send your request in writing no later than June 1, 2009 to:
