Parents and Community

New venture forges stronger school-community connections
Parent University is a community
collaboration involving the Saratoga Springs City School
District and the Saratoga Partnership for Prevention. Realizing
that behind each successful student are caring parents and
families who actively participate in their student’s education,
Parent University will offer opportunities for lifelong
learning, which will benefit the children and youth of our
community.
Parent University has four strands of learning:
-
Parenting Awareness: Provides information to support parents in child rearing.
-
21st Century Learning: Helps parents keep current about new and innovative ways of teaching and learning, along with the challenges associated with living in a technological age.
-
Health and Wellness: Helps families build healthy lifestyles physically as well as emotionally.
-
Personal Growth and Development: Helps parents grow personally and professionally as they strive to be effective advocates for their children.
Courses will be offered on weekdays and weekends at various times in venues throughout the community. Community professionals, district staff, parents and students will serve as teachers. For more information about courses and other aspects of Parent University, please see the links below.
