Dr. MacFadden was employed by the school district for 38 years,
beginning as a high school social studies teacher and serving
later as a high school assistant principal. Following central
administrative appointments as personnel director and assistant
superintendent for curriculum and instruction, he was appointed
as superintendent in 1991.
Dr. MacFadden was honored during a
ceremony and reception in the lobby of the administration building, located
at 3 Blue Streak Boulevard in Saratoga Springs. A plaque
designating the new name of the building was unveiled during
the ceremony.
“We are pleased to recognize the achievements and leadership of
Dr. MacFadden,” said Superintendent of Schools Janice M. White.
She applauded the the former superintendent for his success in
bringing central office administrators together in the renovated
building from three former locations
scattered around the school district.
“This is a permanent reminder of Dr.
MacFadden's contributions to past and future students,"
Mrs. White added.
