BALLROOM DANCING I

Ballroom Dancing I is being offered by popular demand with the return of the big band sound. For beginners or those who want to brush up on their dancing skills. Dances will include both ballroom and Latin dancing including: Fox Trot, Waltz, Tango, Cha-Cha, and Rumba. Couples only.

BALLROOM DANCING II
9 weeks Hershell Allen
Ballroom II is a continuation of the Ballroom I with more advanced steps. Learn additional steps I in the Fox Trot, Waltz and others. A new dance or two will be added. This course will be helpful with the return of the “Big Band” sound. Couples only.

GUITAR: BEGINNING
7 weeks Phil Rogers
This beginner’s guitar course will show you the basics of the acoustic guitar. You will learn how to tune a guitar, change strings, strum, scales, finger exercises and 28 chords used in today’s most popular music. Students should expect to purchase a book provided by the instructor. Class size limited to 15.

SWING II: BIG BAND DANCING

Come have an invigorating, fun filled experience in this dance class. Swing is one of the most popular dances in the world. This class will offer additional steps that will build on those learned in Swing l. Swing will include Jitterbug, Lindy Hop and Jive. Completion of Swing l dancing class is recommended. Couples only.

TEXAS TWO STEP & COUNTRY COUPLES

Tired of sitting and watching others out there on the dance floor having a great time country couples dancing? Well join Instructor Tony Pirrone and learn how to be right out there with the best of them! This is a fun orientated Texas Two Step class with a few “Country Couples” dances thrown in! Country music is one of the fastest growing dances around and its popularity gets bigger every day! It’s fun and easy to learn! Class size limited to 30. Couples Only.

WEST AFRICAN DJEMBE

Prepare yourself for an exotic experience as we learn the songs that are shaping a new age of music in America. The djembe is traditionally carved from one piece of wood, has goat hide stretched across the top, held together with a series of steel hoops and rope, and is the shape of a goblet. This class is designed for the individual who has some exposure to the drum in one discipline or another. Even if you have never played a hand drum before, the feeling is natural and, with a little relaxation, the music will begin to flow. We will cover songs mostly from Guinea, West Africa, however, we may play songs from other parts of Africa as well. We will learn all parts to the songs we cover thus creating an orchestra of drums. If you have a drum, please bring it. Class size limited to 10.
