NO TAX LEVY
INCREASE
IN 2009-2010 BUDGET
Voters overwhelmingly approved a
$110,129,656 budget for 2009-2010 by a vote of 2,242-878 on
May 19. There is no increase in the tax levy.
A
school bus purchase proposition was approved by a vote of
2,128-954.
Janice White, superintendent of schools, said the vote underscores the community's commitment to quality education: "It is gratifying to know that despite the difficult economic times, this community is grounded in a commitment to educating the next generations. We will work diligently with every child, every day to live up to their expectations for strong achievement and expanding possibilities for their futures."
Jay Rifenbary was re-elected to the school board, and
newcomers Aaron AuBuchon and Steve Grandin were elected, all to
three-year terms.
